We spent the summer of 2024 conducting a deep investigation into the money coming into Columbia from the fossil fuel industry in the form of donations for climate and environmental research. We also researched the “soft ties” — an extensive network of personal connections and mutual reinforcement between the fossil fuel industry and Columbia’s research centers.
